The grapes for this wine production were stepped by foot and then placed to age in large wooden casks for about 2 years before being bottled. The Niepoort Secundum Vintage 2000 is produced from the grape varieties of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão and Tinta Roriz.
